Happy International Women’s Day!
This year’s IWD theme is #inspireinclusion which emphasizes the importance of empowerment, and creating environments where ALL women are valued, respected, and celebrated.
IATSE Local 856 encourages everyone to recognize the unique perspectives and contributions that are made by our Sisters and Kin to the film industry.
The IATSE Local 856 Women’s Committee is coordinating a series of events and fundraisers to help give back to the community. If you are interested in learning more, or inspired to take action, check out the links below!
Shoppers Drug Mart’s Run For Women
The Shoppers Drug Mart® Run for Women is the largest event series in Canada dedicated to women’s mental health. With 5K/10K run/walk events in 18 Canadian communities, they have raised over $20 million for women’s mental health programs across Canada.
Here in Manitoba, the IA 856 Women’s Committee has created a team – Women in Film. You can sign up to join the team, or you can donate to help reach our goal (learn more here).
