General Requirements for Membership
Once permittees have reached the required amount of days worked under IATSE 856, within one department, they can inquire about a membership application. Please contact Admin Assistant or Operations Manager to inquire about a days count, and to ensure all requirements for membership have been met.
In order for members to remain in good Standing, members must pay annual dues on time, and abide by the Constitution and By-Laws set out by IATSE Local 856.
GENERAL REQUIREMENTS FOR MEMBERSHIP
60+ days worked on 2 or more IATSE 856 Productions
Valid Emergency (Basic) First Aid Certificate (or higher)
Completion of the Collective Agreement Course — hosted by IATSE Local 856
Pay the $600 membership application fee

DUES
ANNUAL DUES
- These are $500.00 a year, or $125.00 every Quarter
- Members who sign up to be on the green initiative will save $25.00 a year on their dues
- Members that pay their dues in full for the year, before March 31st will receive a 10% discount ($50.00) off their dues
WORKING DUES
These dues are paid directly to IATSE Local 856 by the payroll company to the Office.
- Members pay 2%
- Permittees pay 7%
WAYS TO PAY ANNUAL DUES
Online
Members can access their dues balance, and make payments online through the member login on the website.

Office hours are Monday – Friday 9:00am – 5:00pm
Accepted methods of payment
Cash, Debit, MC, Visa, Cheque
Non-payment of dues, and falling more than $250.00 behind, will place you on the Expulsion list. Failure to pay will result in loss of membership from the Local. For more information on Expulsion see Leaving Active Membership.
